Editor’s Picks – Inflatable Hot Tub Reviews
Intex PureSpa Bubble Plus 6-Person Hot Tub
If you are looking for a Jacuzzi that combines both versatility, good value and size, then this model is for you. The Intex PureSpa is a model that just wowed us at how freaking awesome it was. The water felt so good against your skin, it wasn’t abrasive and slightly irritating as other Jacuzzi’s because the PureSpa includes an advanced Hard-water treatment system along with a built-in saltwater treatment system for a great experience overall. It is also incredibly simple to setup with a built in air pump that inflates the Jacuzzi without outside tools. The PureSpa also boasts a 6-person capacity so you can have even more friends relaxing alongside you for your next session. For these reasons, this is the 1st place model we have to offer. So much so that we even had to designate it “premium”.
- 6 person capacity
- 140 High Power Water Jets
- Built-in hard-water treatment framework (Improves the quality of the water)
- The hot tub is made of FiberTech 3-ply laminate PVC material which improves the durability and longevity of the hot tub
Coleman Lay-Z Spa
This model is the best one can get without becoming a premium model, in fact I think most blow-up spa reviews would call this a premium model simply because it is such a good hot tub for the price range. This high-quality Jacuzzi has the size and durability of a premium model as well, it can house up to 6-people and have no problem holding all the excess weight since it is made of TriTech’s 3-ply reinforced material with extra 2 layers of PVC encasing along with sidewalls made with I-beam construction allowing users to comfortably sit on it. Not to mention the cushioned air-pad floors that serve both to make your experience even more comfortable and reduce heat loss through the bottom. Combining all these features into one model makes this spa one great buy!
*On a side note: We had a REALLY hard time deciding whether to keep this as a standard model or be the runner up for the best premium model!Full Review
- Integrated Control Panel
- Large size and capacity – Up to 6 people
- Framework made up of 3-ply reinforced material
- Cushioned air-pad floors
- No tools needed to inflate the Jacuzzi, only requires the included pump
Coleman Miami 4-Person
This is like the younger brother of the Coleman Lay-Z Spa, although slightly less ambitious this hot tub is still incredibly good and has many of the same features as its older brother. It has the same durable TriTech 3-ply construction material along with I-beam sidewalls, it also has the same cushioned floor as its older brother. The only reason why this is the runner up is because it doesn’t have the same salt and hard water treatment system as the Lay-Z model and it has less bubble jets. Overall this portable hot tub is still a GREAT buy.Full Review
- Cushioned Floor
- Sidewalls made with I-beam construction
- Made of TriTech 3-ply material
- 2 handles added for easy transportation
- Filter Cartridges included
Intex 85in Portable Bubble PureSpa Massage
We had a really hard time to decide which one to put as the “best” standard model, but this model was so liked by both us and the reviewers on Amazon that we had to put this as a “premium” model. This Jacuzzi has many great features that we love; It includes 140 Bubble jets (20 more than usual) along with a large 6-person capacity. This model also has a built-in hard water treatment system that softens the water and makes it feel better on your skin along with a Fiber-Tech construction meant to enhance the durability and comfort. Not only is it cheaper than a lot of other Jacuzzi’s but it also has more features, leading me to designate this spa as a “premium” hot tub.Full Review
- 140 Soothing Bubble Jets
- 6 person seating capacity
- Includes built-in hard water treatment system
- Includes floating chlorine dispenser
- Made of FiberTech Construction
Saluspa Miami AirJet
This is the best models for the money, we just couldn’t find out how it can possibly be at such a low price point compared to other Jacuzzi and still has such a good quality compared to some spas 300$+ more expensive. Although slightly less expensive, this hot tub still has the same great features as others. It has the same I-Beam sidewall construction and TriTech 3-ply material with the same high quality PVC reinforcement. The Jacuzzi also has 120 bubble jets also included with the spa along with a integrated pump to inflate without any outside tools. One of the only bad things about this spa is that it doesn’t include any seats or padded flooring.Full Review
- Easy to assemble
- Aesthetically Pleasing
- Includes a cover and filter cartridges
- Affordable and decently high quality
Inflatable vs. Traditional – Benefits
Inflatable models can be used pretty much anywhere where you have electricity and running water. blow-up spas are designed for portability as they are usually light weight, from 80-120 pounds and can usually be carried in a car or with two hands. Many models also have built-in pumps to inflate the tub without any tools and 2 carry handles to further aid convenience. Traditional versions don’t have this portability although they do tend to have more power.
Most traditional models require a decent amount of time to get setup and ready for use. Not only that but you also have to have it manually setup which for some people requires them to hire or contract a store vendor to setup the hot tub. Inflatable versions have none of these problems, even the most slightest of individuals can usually setup an portable whirlpool with very little effort or outside tools. This is a very big reason for why blow-up hot tubs are so popular.
Traditional hot tubs can cost up to 4 to 5 times more than an inflatable hot tub. For many people traditional hot tubs are simply way too expensive to buy and use along with electrical bills. A built-in hot tub can cost up to 20,000$ according to Home Advisor along with additional setup fees and delivery costs which can total up to 800 extra dollars. A traditional hot tub can also cost more to setup as you may require setting up the tub inside your house.
Benefits of owning a Hot Tub
HEALTH BENEFITS –
Hydrotherapy is an incredibly old therapy with many reported medical benefits including: arthritis, blood flow, asthma, pain management, etc… One of the great things about having a hot tub is that the Hydrotherapy can be conducted quite easily in a hot tub.
Higher Quality Sleep
Soaking in a Jacuzzi can help you kick your insomnia, a hot tub can help keep you body temperature at a constant and therefore calm temperature fluctuations in your body and therefore allow you to experience a better and more fulfilling sleep.
Improvement of Blood flow
Hot tubs can vastly improve blood flow and as a result improve overall health as well. Blood flow is helped by the heat of the hot tub causing the blood vessels in the body to expand as heat enters the body. This extra heat can also be soothing to soreness in your joints or lower back as well.
Stress can pile on incredibly quickly due to work, school or a multitude of activities. The heated water of the spa can help regulate hormones and the release of dopamine and the reduction of cortisol, also known as the “pleasure” and “stress” hormones respectively. This can in turn help your: cardiovascular, muscles, skeletal, neurological, systems. Pretty much all types of health issues can be helped with stress relief. Relieving stress can also reduce the chance of many types of cancer.
According to the CDC, over 29 million people have diabetes in the United States. Hydrotherapy is known to help blood sugar levels which can help diabetes and many other issues with blood sugar. This can also help you reduce your medical bills for insulin as lower blood sugar can reduce the need for insulin.
OTHER BENEFITS –
Affordable Alternative to Built-In Hot Tubs
As stated earlier, built-in spas can cost up to 20,000 dollars plus extra fees and taxes can easily pile up to over 21k in cost. Inflatable hot tubs usually cost 300-800$ and don’t require any installation or extra fees.
Easier to setup as a beginner
You don’t have to get a quote from your local hot tub retailer to get your Jacuzzi installed and you don’t have to wait for an electrician and/or a plumber to set up the framework for you. Inflatable hot tubs are incredibly easy to setup and don’t require much prior experience plus our reviews will help you decide which ones to buy. Most people can simply inflate the tub and wait for the water to heat up.
A traditional hot tub can’t be brought to another home after moving, nor can it be brought on a vacation anywhere. One of the best things about inflatable hot tubs is that they are portable and don’t require much work to get started and setup pretty much everywhere you have the proper necessities to operate the spa.
RULES FOR USE –
Replace the water after prolonged usage
Each time you use the same water, little bits of dirt, dust, germs and even fecal matter can accumulate in your hot tub. Although a chemical floater and a filter may somewhat alleviate this problem it is most advisable to remove your existing water and replace it almost every use.
Replace your filter cartridges after heavy use
After using the same filter cartridge for a long time, the filter may start to accumulate dirt and grime. A bad filter can mean the water inside your spa can become very dirty and polluted. Having old filter cartridges can also be bad for your health as dirty water can lead to infections and a generally unpleasant feeling. Make sure to replace the filter cartridge if you notice any odd discoloration in the water that can’t be explained.
If your model contains a chemical floater, use it!
Chemical floaters are there for a reason! Chemical floaters can help keep the water clean of any impurities and keep your experience pleasant!
Keep Clear of Puncture Hazards
Although many of these tubs are made of reinforced materials and PVC, sharp objects can still penetrate through the sidewalls and cause leaks. This can be seriously troublesome as the hot tub may need to cost extra to ship back and the new hot tub may take a long time to come back! Seriously, make sure not to have any puncture hazards near the tub!
GUIDELINES FOR PICKING A JACUZZI –
Inflatable hot tubs can range between 300 to 800 dollars, depending on what tier of quality you wish to have. In general price tends to correlate with quality quite well, a premium tier inflatable hot tub can cost extra but may have extra features such as a salt-water system along with a hard-water system combined with a large capacity while a budget offering may only have a basic filtration framework with a smaller capacity. Your budget can really dictate which tier of quality you can get, although our two budget offerings are great for those who want extra value out of their purchases.
